Hello my lovies!
The move to my new place is DONE (cue round of applause)! AND THANK BABY JESUS it’s over because mama was about to lose her marbles.
After I finished moving the last box, I stood in my new place and felt… out of place. I knew that this new space was my home but it didn’t feel like a home. It was so shiny and new and all this change made me miss my family a ton. With that being said, I live a good distance away from my family and visits have been few and far between. When my family heard that I was homesick, my dad and baby sis were kind enough to come by as an early birthday present to help me paint and make curtains for my new place. The only sad faced part was that my mom wasn’t able to accompany the rest of the family. We definitely missed her.
All in all, the three of us had a blast. There’s nothing quite like good company to make you relax and put you in a good mood. We had a great time just hanging out, doing menial tasks like taping edges for painting, and having late night Law and Order: SVU marathons (my sis and I love us some Benson and Stabler). All the stresses of my moving week melted away with each joke we told and new memory we created. My dad and my sister coming to visit me, definitely made my new place finally feel like a home. Being around them also made me feel very grateful that both my parents and my sister are alive and healthy. Their visit this weekend made me realize the importance of telling the important people in your life you care about them and love them.
I hope you take a moment out of your day to call up a family member or friend and just tell them that you appreciate them and were thinking about them.
Have a wonderful week!
I just wanted to keep y’all in the loop. I’m in the midst of a major move. Being a Taurus, I MAJORLY dislike change, especially with my home. But looking at it from the bright side, I have been purging a ton of stuff. So far, I have over 15 big bags/furniture pieces to go to Goodwill. And while, I can’t wait to see that help me next year on my tax return, I’m really excited to see all these old materials go onto have a second life in someone else’s home. This move has also made me reflect on all the good memories I’ve had in this place. I’m going to miss this little abode, but I know my new place is a BIG step in the right direction.
I have also decided that this move is going to be easy. Sure, it will require a lot of hard work and effort, but I’m ready to embrace change with open arms and get my life back on track!
Happy Monday and ttyl!
