I have a goal: to think positively for ONE YEAR.

My name is Elizabeth. I live in Los Angeles. I’m trying to change the way I think.

I’ve decided that I’ve wasted enough time and energy on negative thoughts, feeling scared, and being insecure. So I created “The Positive Experiment”: a blog chronicling my year long journey towards positive thinking.

The idea came from a class withΒ Dallas Travers who challenged me to change the way I think. I want to take my daily stressful thoughts and transform them into exciting possibilities.

So here we are! I know this journey will be an interesting one and I hope you will be able to learn from what I’m experiencing.

So, in the words of the immortal Mario of the Super Mario Bros.: “Here We Go!”

  6. Hi!
    Good stuff, good stuff.

A few things that allowed me to change my life and not be negative anymore.

The Strangest Secret – by Earl Nightengale. I have the CD and listen to it all the time. Most people I work with say that they have listened to it 21+ times and it has changed how they think.

Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill. Book, Chapters one, two and three made a huge impact on my life.

Being part of the success club.
Look forward to seeing you grow and become positive. Let me know if I can help with anything.

  8. I like this idea. thanks for the nudge-reminder. In trying to change the world, as it collapses around us.. well- BEFORE it collapses around us… we often forget that in order to change the world, we need to change ourselves. That was a core lesson of one of my teachers. it sounded so trite when it was spoken. It wasn’t until years later I realised the sheer depth and profundity of that simple nugget of wisdom.

I look forward to sharing your journey and progress.

  11. Well done just for setting the goal and recognizing the possibilities – you’re inspiring me.
One of my favorite sayings:”It’s hard enough to change yourself without trying to change someone else.”
Changing our thinking is key…it takes practice, practice practice just like anything else worth doing. πŸ™‚ Practicing now!

  12. A good step in the right direction, Elizabeth. I’ll support you, I love your enthousiasm, and to be honest with you, I still need a little positivity sometimes too. You go girl πŸ™‚

  13. I have been writing about Positive Awareness, a concept which goes beyond positive thinking, for over 5 years and have seen miracles take place in my life because of it. The so-called experts on manifesting and on the Law of Attraction don’t seem to understand that you can’t get what you want, either by manifesting it or by attracting it, until your energy is positive, because everything is energy and like-energies attract, unlike-energies cancel out. Try Elizabeth’s experiment and I think you will all agree that it’s worthy of living the rest of your life this way and not just for a year!

  14. I think what you’re doing is totally a novel concept and just started perusing your site and i like what you’ve done with it. I just created a wordpress site myself a couple months ago and it’s a combination of prose, poems, free verse and comedy. If you had a chance check it out and let me know what you think. Keep thinking positive and spreading the good word sista.
